Deconstruction and reconstruction

                                              Deconstruction     and    reconstruction

On this week project, we practiced Deconstruction and  reconstruction   of garments .

We began with undoing existing garments to pieces .I used a t-shirt  denim trousers and a thermo jacket .  I placed all parts of garments on the floor in  to see existing materials.

After Deconstructing garments I start to locate the pieces on mannequin according to my thoughts and secure them by pins .  in  some point I layered  the fabrics pieces and slash  them  in order to get  a new look .

I inspired by  “ deconstruction and reconstruction “ word itself .destroy/ war / nuclear explosion / aggressive sex / anarchism  / nature / peace / hope for future / and rebuild but     with an existing piece in unique way .

I also inspired by Martin Margiela ,Vivian Westwood , Yohji Yamamoto and a  movie called  ‘Waterworld “  by    Kevin Reynolds  ( 1995) .

Reconstruction of garments time to time became challenging because of having limited pieces and different shapes but  in the other hand it’s affordable to make a new garment from vintage or used cloth .

Deconstruction and reconstruction is very enjoyable because it allows the designer to take their ideas into next level by working with limited material and existing forms.

by deconstructing  garments I learned more about structure of clothing  and with by  reconstructing of new garment I learned  to see things from different view and angle and place them in unique way.

I believe there is mazing potential for reconstructed garment In the market  because of low cost of  Production  and growing  public’s interest of recycled fashion .
